Extra 4 is a classic Belgian “Single” style, light golden in color, full of flavor and character and brewed with more hops and bitterness in comparison to the other well known St Bernardus abbey ales. Extra 4 will be brewed with high fermentation and bottled conditioned with an ABV of 4.8%. Extra 4 will be a unique, tasty and refreshing spring and summer quencher with a lower alcohol content than such other popular St Bernardus products as Abt 12, Tripel and Prior 8.

Scipio (1338) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - FEB 27, 2018
Pours a hazy golden with a thin white head. The aroma is big on yeast and orange, while also offering spice, banana, floral hops, and honey. This is slightly sweet when sipped. Flavors are balanced and a little more subtle overall. It has floral hops, banana, spice, bread, apple, orange, with minor wheat and herbal elements. Short aftertaste is orange. Light to medium in body and smooth in texture. I found this to be very easy drinking. I can't pinpoint anything that was particularly great, but there was just enough to appreciate.

AntonyWilson (522) - Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA - NOV 13, 2017
330ml Bottle: Pours a crystal clear light golden with thin white head. Slight sherry aromas with hints of spice and a slight bread crust note as well. Flavours include orange zest and cereal with a slight coriander note. Bitterness is low, body is medium and the carbonation is lively. Overall the beer is nice but have had better Belgian ales than this.
