COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fruity, floral hops meet velvety, dark malt in this Meridian Expedition beer. Our CDL delivers loads of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine aroma thanks to multiple Meridian hop additions. Light sweetness and toasty, roasty malt provide counterpoint to a solid hop bitterness. For a beer of this dark color, it finishes surprisingly light and clean thanks to its fermentation and lagering character.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2019 09-Sep-15 (12-oz can: Sample can from the distributor)
This Dark Lager pours a clear, medium-brown body and half an inch of tan head that settles to a spotty dusting and tall ring, leaving a few spots of lacing on the glass. The nose is deliciously malty with lots of toasty, dark bread, wort, a hint of chocolate, earthy mushrooms, and a piney aroma that smells like hop pellets. On the palate, gently roasty malts offer flavors of dark bread, earthy logs, chocolate, and mild coffee. Hops don't dominate, but they have a really nice piney flavor with light bitterness. The beer is light-medium in weight, medium in carbonation, and the mouthfeel is dry and slightly dusty, but the finish does seem a bit watery. Overall, this is a super drinkable dark beer with delicious malt flavor, balanced hops, and a very pleasant earthiness that seems to define these Cascadian Dark beers.
