jjsint (7710) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - DEC 2, 2019UPDATED: DEC 2, 2019 Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Middle of the road gold colour, clear with an uneven white head. Malt led aroma with grain, TCP. Tastes bitter with a heavy astringent edge, but it warms slightly to sweeter notes with candied citrus peel. Finish has a lively balance with a further medicinal sting. This grew on me, although it's not my sort of beer it's great to try.

ABV: 4.5%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, light zesty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, pale malt, citrus, zesty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180808]

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light and semi dry palate, modest fine carbonation. Light dry pale malts bring a mild sweetness. Mellow orange citrus, mild marmalade. Thin dry finish. Okay flavours but thin dry mouthfeel.

Aroma of tangy lemon, some orange, slight grass, subtle sugary sweets and floral hops. Taste of tangy lemon, orange, some sugar, grass and stale, floral hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A sweetish, tangy, floral hop finish. Very floral and quite sweet. Tangy citrus and grassy. Nah.
