UPDATED: FEB 8, 2017 Cola black beer with a small dark beige head. Roastiness and mild fruitiness in the aroma...Probably with blueberries? Quite nice bitterness and a bit strange flavor from the blueberries again? Roasted and bitter with blueberries... weird but quite alright. Salty liquorice also. I?m not sure if I really like it but it?s worth tasting for, for sure! It?s quite well made and balanced actually.

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2016 [email protected] this a year after expiration date, still tastes fantastic. Its no longer got any ipa flavors, but the dark beer with forest berries is in there, its strong and tastes nice. If you?re sitting on a batch or you have a chance to try one, you?re in luck because this is really good.

from Erzbierschof - almost black beer with a moderate foam left; nice lace though; fairly toasted with notes of licorice, spruces, earth and dark fruits; tart, astringent and very bitter, quite full-bodied, solid carbonation, lot of licorice and notes of black cherries and blueberries; very hoppy

My Bottom Line:
Piney hops grow through roasted malts, developing a dual bitterness that lingers alongside citrusy tips.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam covers the brownish black.
-Pumpernickel allusions are also tasted.
-Mouthfeel is lean and frothy.
-Drinkability is quite high despite the intensity of all components.

Bottle.
