COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
CCCPale Ale is a throwback to the old school American Pale Ale. No fancy new hops, no fancy malt bill. Simplicity and drinkability - and bucket loads of Chinook, Centennial and Cascade.

On tap at Henrik, Bergen. Pours clear dark golden with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, grapefruit. Taste is dry all over, grapefruit and fruity hops, refreshing and easy on the swallow, recommended.

On tap at Henrik Øl og Vinstove, September 2014. (my first one from this brewery) Hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, malt, hay and light resin. Similar taste. The body was medium and the finish on the dry side. Relaxed and easy to drink.

On tap at Henrik. A hazy dark golden to amber colored beer with a small, dense, off-white head. Curtains. Citrus zest, caramel malts, some grapefruit and resin in the aroma. It’s quite bitter, with a dryish caramel maltiness, some resin and grapefruit. Full body, dry, and with a nice carbonation level. Long, bitter finish. A tad too malty, but nice anyway. 140906

On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Dark slightly hazy body, small off-white head. Nose is grass, red fruits, herbs, resin, spruce and hints of smokey malts and straw. Taste is bready malts, smokey grass tones, herbs, hints of grapefruit and citric peel. Medium body and carbonation. Nice enough, but a bit "old world" for an American CCC pale ale IMO. The fruity tones are pretty invisible, surprisingly enough.

On tap @ Henrik as ABC Brewing - Mr. WOOD. This is a mild blurry looking dark golden one. It also has a nice really lacing off-white head that lingers nicely. It has this slightly sweetish caramelly nose with traces of grass, soft wet fruits and a little peach. It’s not a heavy weigher body vise. The barkeep did it know the abv on this but based on the mouthfeel it cannot be much over 5 percent. Bubble-vise it’s soft and almost prickling. A bit thin as mentioned, but this time in the taste. However, it’s really easy and nice to drink this! Mild wet peaches, grassy hops giving it a gentle bitterness. Reminds me much more of a well hopped English style bitter than an APA as the board says this is. Yeah, a nice drikability score on this. 10.07.2014
