UPDATED: AUG 3, 2018 Bottle courtesy of derA, shared with Alex, cheers. Dark brown color scant head. Aroma of licorice dipped in dark chocolate with dates and raisins. Taste is lightly oxidized chocolate covered plums and raisin, lightly vinous. Has survived well.

Bottle, courtesy of DerA, many thanks! Pours darkest brown with a little bit of head. Aroma is oxidized, caramel, vanilla, feels like a strong barrel aged beer. Body is medium, rather dry, sweet and oily, almost no carbonation. Lingering warming palate, yet still quite light. Held up surprisingly well!

SinH4 (10431) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - NOV 10, 2017
Bottle, many thanks derA! Brown color with no head. Aroma is molasses, oxidized. Taste is oxidized, nutty, chocolate, a bit tart, very light-bodied. Oily mouthfeel with low, a bit of stingy carbonation.

Bottle at home, thanks Alex. Dark brown coloured with a small beige head. Fruity aroma of licorice, dried fruits and vanilla with notes of soy sauce. Fruity flavour of dried fruits, soy sauce, licorice and vinegar. Fruity finish.

Hopfemandli (109) - Zug, SWITZERLAND - FEB 1, 2013
33cl swing-top. Pours reddish black with still some head. Aroma is very complex of pumpernickel, plums, chocolate, soya. Flavor is dry sherry, Malaga. Very long and complex winey aftertaste.

Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100307]

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2010
Small bottle shared by Puzzl. Very old bottle- 2002-2003 and it shows. Pours a deep oily black with no head- slight soda fizziness. Aroma is dirty, rubber fusel alcohols strange old mildew- green and red raisins, earth dirt leaves, leather, bad bacterial infections, wild yeast, some pedio tart cherry light roast and burn. Flavor is metallic, oxidized charred malts, mildew dirt, bacteria, tart, chalky mineral, maple syrup sweetness with sherry oxidation, hebs, nuts, and harsh red oak tannins, Meh.

MiP (17084) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2009
Bottle, 7.5%. Vinous aroma, smells well-lagered. Very dark brown colour. Small stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted and vinous, hint of cream. There is a distinct acidic note, perhaps lactic, a bit like sour malt. Works all right, though, especially considering the age. Tastes all right, but on the other hand, it a bit odd.
