The impact of homebrewers on the American craft beer industry has been immense. The comfort level and lack of inhibitors provided by a domestic brewing environment fosters a near limitless brand of experimentation, allowing homebrewers to push te beer envelope to its breaking point. Many of the professional brewing world’s best recipes--from West Coast IPAs to imperial stouts and even sours--began as homespun standouts so spectacular they had to be unleashed on the world in order to improve it.

With this in mind, each year we hold an American Homebrewers Association sanctioned homebrewing competition, the champion of which gets their recipe brewed and distributed nationwide by Stone. This year’s winner, Chris Banker, helped keep us grounded to our homebrewing roots by introducing flavors consistent with our regional apalate. His chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, chile pepper, and coffee-infused milk stout was built to mimic the flavors of Mexican hot chocolate, a beloved specialty from our neighbors to the sout, as our collaborators from Baja California, Cervezeria Insurgente, will attest. Layered with tiers of earthiness, spice, and roast, this creamy, semisweet blue ribbon beer confirms that the spirit of the American homebrewer is not only alive and kicking but thriving at an all-time high.

Beautiful, durable nougat colored foam. Aroma is light chocolate and cocoa. The taste varies over light chocolate, cinnamon, espresso, vanilla and a little bit of crisp chilli. It is a stout that is most sweet in its entirety, but a little burnt malt is tracked in the end. A really nice stout.

On tap at Dynamo. Pitch black with a brown head. Coffee, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spicy, aromatic. Alcohol is well hidden. Very good!

Vanilla latte coffee. Very smooth wth a pleasant Hint of chilli and nutmeg. Very moreish and hard to sip slowly and disappears too quickly

W aromacie piernik polany czekoladą. Dużo cynamonu i gałki.

Bottle from Saveur bière. Chocolate, coffee, cinnamon and chili, right as the label says. Good one, I specially like the chilli hint

Piwo czarne z lekko bezowa drobnopecherzykowa piana. Bogaty aromat Stoutu wymieszany z przyprawami tworzy bardzo przyjemna i spojna kompozycje zapachowo-smakowa. Kawa, wanilia, cynamon i lekki kokos. Raczej niskie wysycenie i palona goryczka na srednim poziomie.

Bottle. Deep black with mocha head. Aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk chocolate and just a touch of chilli at the back of the nose. Milk chocolate/lactose flavour, but doesn't become sweet due to roasted malts and good hop bitterness. Background notes of espresso, cinnamon and nutmeg. The chilli is not detectable as a flavour but perhaps just adds a mellow warmth. Magnificent beer.

Can. Very spicy aroma, cinnamon, cardamom and chocolate. Almost black colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is also spicy, a lot like the aroma but with a touch of chili. The chocolate is more like powdered chocolate in the flavour. Very good.

Uwarzone w Berlinie Aromat: Głównie coca cola i trochę piernikowych przypraw. No i trochę alkoholu i gdzieś tam bardzo z tyłu czekolada
Wygląd:Piana obfita, bo piwo generalnie przegazowane, wylatało z butelki. Kolor brunatny, zmętniony.
Smak:Trochę czekolady, trochę kawy, raczej mało słodko i przyprawy, ale też delikatne, no nie urzeka mnie.
Odczucie:Wytrawne, wysoko wysycone (przegazowane), lekki alkohol i dość przyjemna goryczka.
Podsumowanie:No bez szału właściwie niewiele się dzieje, jest wytrawnie i pustawo, tylko trochę czekolady, kawy i tych przypraw

33cl can, brewed in Berlin. Great nose of spiced fruit cake, very dry and slightly burned. The beer starts extreme smooth with burned bitter parts. Extreme round and not too sweetish. Like a liquid christmas-pudding. Fascinating cake crust, spiced gingerbread and a low roasted bitterness. Extreme great, if you like spiced christmas-pudding.
