4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20

kindly gifted by kacper, thanks pal!! been trying to drink it for so long, finally got around to it after xmas. beautiful bottle, pours like melted amber, no head, with clear sticky lacing. amazing aroma of dark honey, poached pear, maple syrup & full on brandy booze. taste really smacks you in the face. huge honey sweetness. slowly opens out into a boozy syrupy butterscotch flavour. alcohol warms you as it goes down. body is so ridiculously thick and creamy, its a real sipper, but so fucking delicious i nearly polished off the whole bottle. thanks again to kacper for this. loved it and drinking it was a special treat

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(bottle) slightly opalescent copper colour with no head. aroma of chestnut honey and earth, with big notes of honey-coated müsli bars, a touch of ethanol, some clove and dried apricots. flavour is more dried apricots and honey, with a sweet and syrupy texture, some oloroso sherry, beeswax and a long warming finish. heavy-bodied with no carbonation. a little one-dimensional perhaps but still right on the money.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured a dark orange color, still. Aroma was of big dark fruit, honey, booze and caramel. Flavor similar, very sweet and very hot. A bit much for me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
250ml bottle. Copper shade. No head. Aroma is grassy, sweet honey, berry fruits. Very sweet and syrupy taste with some light fruity action. Tasty stuff but I preferred the Piastowski to this.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Cotts Convention ii, thanks to Daniel, 05/03/16.
Rich golden orange with a decent off white cap - a handsome mead.
Nose is sweet tunes, honey dollop, caramel, a little 1D.
Taste comprises mellow fruit, caramel, honey, Golden Grahams, melted syrup.
Full boided, oily massaging mouthfeel with a boozy tickle.
Decent mead ... really kicks into life once it trickles down the gullet.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle share at Cotteridge II as Apis Dwójniak Kurpiowski, 16%. Picked up at a Polski Sklep in West London. Dark amber orange, still, small foamy white head. Aroma is a bit boozy, honey, spice, varnish. Body is smooth, low carbonation, oily. Taste is very sweet, honey, papery, twiggy, wafer, tawny port, touch of solvent. Personally this is too sweet for me, and a touch harsh. This can be a style I struggle with, so no particular criticism of this one. (3.3)

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Massive thanks to Daniel for this one! Pours clear, rich ruby-orange - lovely. The nose holds berries, ripe apples, background honey. Heavy sweet flavour, sugary and oily, with present alcohol, decadent honey, light floral notes, honeysuckle, impressions of berries. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy. Warming on the finish, slick, with further hearty and gooey honey, flowers. Awesome stuff. The richness of the honey character is just outstanding, and the blackcurrant gives it a nice edge of complexity. Stunning.
