UPDATED: JAN 22, 2020 Bottle. Pour a light yellow color. Aroma of sweet rice, alcohol, light tropical fruite. Nice mouthfeel with a very dry finish.

BeerandBlues2 (17879) - Woodland Park, Colorado, USA - JUN 2, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 Bottle. Pours translucent pale faint yellow and still, forms nice legs. Light tropical stone fruit esters, soft vanilla, light sweet rice, spicy alcohol, and a dry finish. Still.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2018 300ml bottle purchased in Kyoto. Very clean flavor, little taste of alcohol, dry. A little unexciting for my palate, but it's an impressively pure tasting sake. Might be great as a 'first sake' for skeptics.

jinroh (4531) - ESTONIA - AUG 27, 2017
Pours clear, maybe jet a slight yellowish hue to it. Nose is lightly fruity, some rice yeast and a bit of anise also maybe hidden somewhere. Light and refreshing. Tastes similarly, sweet rice and some spices, then actually booze is quite there and brings along a little bitterness. Finishes with a dry and relatively bitter, even herbal linger on the tongue. Overall, not bad although finish feels slightly harsh and unbalanced to me.

Bottle - Light yeast and booze. Sweet and light bread. Touch of acidity. OK.

Bottle sample at Yama. Clear, still. Subtle anise aroma. Taste has light spice, quick finish. Nice.

Flight at Japanese resto in Chevy Chase, MD. Nice water color with no head. Nose is of rice, slightly alcy. Nice sweet flavour with coconut and other flavors. Oily and nice rice filmy texture to it. My favorite of the three sampled.

[ Bottle ][ 500mL? ][ Sake House Yu Me Ya Encinitas ][ $35 ][ Crystal Sake Shooter ][ 10.2.14 ]
>> Pours clear with minimal legs and low watery viscosity. Fresh garden and strawberry nose. Least boozy flavor of our sake tasting flight so chose to split a whole bottle of this one. Super clean and ricey taste, medium dry finish. Paired with food, it becomes much fruitier, no alcohol bite, juicy plum and pineapple. Clean finish. Quite nice.

KyotoLefty (14005) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 26, 2014
720 ml bottle from Seijo Ishii. Hiyaoroshi version made from Akiagari rice. Nose if rice, a touch of caramel, stone fruits. Flavor is sweet rice and stewed fruits, peach, apricot, and a slight alcohol burn. Nice silky body. Good. Not terribly unique, but very solid.

PhillyCraft (11649) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 6, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2013 Bottle at Benihana, pours like water, maybe a little gold tinted. No head or lacing. Nose is peach, pineapple, wood, and light anise. Flavor is citrus, rice, grain, vanilla and vodka. So much booze and bland. I have tried about 5 sakes in my life and I am now ready to give up on them. Just too much heat and not enough aroma or flavor profile. This mostly reminded me of watered down cheap vodker. Pass
