Bottle - clear dark golden color, white head. taste is malty, medium sweet, bit watery. drinkable, but not really what I expect from a great Märzen. Grumpelmies (402) - GERMANY - JUN 2, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2017 Bottle. Copper coloured with a decent white head. Spicy aroma if malts and floral hops. Taste is malty, spicy, some gingerbread and mild hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation. A little bit watery but balanced. I almost despise Warsteiner with a passion but this is actually quite alright. Gangstergafje (1309) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - APR 29, 2017
Glad to find this last beer at the Plus supermarket in Wezep, the Netherlands. Always nice to accidentally find a beer. The looks of the beer are nice. The color is a lovely rather red amber. The beer is crystal clear. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of slightly offwhite foam. The bulk of the foam collapses, leaving hardly any drape. The smell of the beer isn’t bad, but not worlds most amazing smell. For a large brewery it is fine though. There is a nice rather sweet malty aroma, together with some sweeter alcohol aromas. There are nice hop aromas to, with some nice herbal aromas and a touch of some nuttiness. Not bad. The herbalsness gives a nice wintery touch.
The taste of the beer is a bit fuller. The smell was a tiny bit mild. The taste has a nice malty flavour, together with nice bitter hops, also containing something herbal and nutty. There is also a nice alcohol flavour, with is nice in a winter beer. Not bad.
The palate ain’t bad either. Nice medium body, but a rather thin body and a medium light carbonation. The finish isn’t extremely long, but contains some nice bitter and slightly herbal hops. Lovely.
Flesje gedeeld tijdens proeverijtje. Roodachtig helder bier. Aroma is fruitig en rokerig. Smaak is rokerig en bitter. Benzai (16771) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - APR 27, 2017
