COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Our coconut and chipotle pepper porter was aged for 6 months in bourbon barrel with cacao beans, tangerine peels and morita pepper. A rich, complex beer, yet it keeps a highly drinkable profile.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2020 (750ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours basically black with a tiny tan ring. Notes dominated by a core of rather acidic dark malts with an ashy roast to them, some quite milky chocolate and soft coconut, savoury smoky peppers, drying old wood, very limited bourbon notes, tangy acidic roasty finish with savoury pepper notes. Light to medium body with limited carbonation. The thin acidic roast makes this nearly sour and the adjuncts and barrel don't really recover it, feels lighter than its ABV. Nah, not great.

750ml bottle shared with Jo and Seb. Batch 2. Aroma: nice cocoa, vanilla, chocolate milk, bourbon as well. App: dark brown, almost black, small frothy moka head leaving great lacing. Taste and palate: medium to full body, lots of chocolate, light acidity and hot burning pepper finish. Overall: excellent! Really enjoyed the mouthfeel! It's really hot in finish but I really enjoy it since it's original. Really well made! Great job Dunham.

[8835-20161022] Cask. Mild roasted bread aroma. Black body with a quick bubbly light brown head. Burny pepper grains flavour. Medium-full body. Not a spicy fan, can see the appeal though. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

750ml bottle @ Jonny’s. Pours an opaque black with a decent brown head. Nose is decent roasted notes with a boozy character. Flavour is the same, a smooth yet somewhat boozy with an overall roaster character. Not much barrel presence, nor spice. Still quite tasty.
