COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pasteurised bottle. Also available in keg for export only. The very occasional cask version is only available in the UK and has a separate listing.
Goldings hops and Golden Promise malt.
At 8.5% ABV, Golden Pride guarantees a superb range of flavours, that is sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates. Our brewers describe Golden Pride thus: ’ deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.’ Or as the late Michael Jackson, beer writer and connoisseur, put it: ’the Cognac of beers’.

WortMeister11 (93) - - JAN 24, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2019 Aroma: caramel, toffee, very malty, orange marmalade, honey, floral Appearance: clear mahogany color with a one-finger deep beige head Taste: caramel, toffee, nut, orange marmalade, honey, floral and herbal hop, medium-high sweetness, medium bitterness Palate: medium-full body, soft carbonation, dry in finish, medium-high alcohol sensation Overall: With a strong malty backbone, usage of English hop variety, and nice balance, its flavor is somewhat similar to that of Fuller's 1845, but its drinkability is noticeably lower because of its higher alcohol sensation. Balance is slightly towards sweetness. Decent!

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2019 A great big alcohol driven maple tart of a beer. Deep amber colour, minimal head, thick mouth feel. Not an every day beer, but an occasional foray into fortified ale doesn’t go amiss with this expression.
