dysenteri (343) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - FEB 13, 2018
2016 version, bought at Systembolaget, 33 cl bottle. Heavy smell of alcohol, caramel, liquorice, black currant, figs, soy. Very sweet, raisiny type of sweetness. The alcohol is much calmer now than two years ago when it was fresh, its too sweet though.

Dark brown, dense, very weak head. Aroma: cocoa, alcohol, sweet, malty, bit of dry fruits. Very sweet, full, low bitterness. Dominated by cocoa/ milk chocolate, malty. Quite nicely hidden alcohol. Rather porterish; no roasty notes.

DraftDodger (1847) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2018
Copenhagen 28/1 2018. 33 cl bottle from Meny. Grey and white slightly depressing label telling me in Estonian that this beer is called "Dark Night" and is the way to enjoy (endure?) the deepest winter. Uplifting. Pours very dark brown - almost black - with very small dark beige head. Settles as thin rim of foam along the side of the glass. No lacing. Aroma is very intensive. Sweet caramel and toffee obscured by an prominent coffee- and dark chocolate bitterness. Actually with a very nice balance - a bit on the bitter side. Soft carbonation and very thick and oily palate. Flavor is heavy sweet and syrupy. Followed by strong bitterness - but not strong enough to balance the overwhelming sweetness. Aftertaste is sweet with bitter notes. Lingering. Intense enough to almost hide an ABV of 13,6. A bit on the sweet side flavorvise - but a real nice beer to sip a Sunday Afternoon.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2018 The almost creamy tones of cassis, vanilla, chocolate and coffee make this gorgeous red black beer a really nice stout

hrabren (2044) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 26, 2017
Bottle shared at a drinking session with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran in the summer of 2017. Thanks! Black with a tan head. Roasty, dried fruits, some peat, some cherry. Sweet and cake-like. Alcohol lightly develops, sticky texture and full body. It is what it says it is, but it's not that impressive.
