"This succulent premium ale has a wonderful blend of hops that give spicy and citrus fruit flavours leading into a dried fruit and biscuit malt finish. Twice a gold medal winner at the British Bottlers’ Institute Awards. Rich and malty as well as fruity and spicy. Nutty amber malt and biscuit pale malt together with crystal malt giving toffee/caramel notes. Fuggles and Styrian hops brings masses of tropical fruit and fragrant spiciness. Robust bitterness is balanced with the full body and mouth feel provided by the malt and the satisfyingly complex hoppiness."
A Ridley’s beer, brewed at Greene King since late 2005.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2019 Bottle from Morrisons, Birtley, Gateshead. Amber coloured with a thick white head. It has a dried fruit and almond flavour with malt, burnt toffee and a warming bitter-sweet finish. Pretty good.

There was quite a flavour of sweet caramel to this beer and I'm not sure if it is something I particularly enjoyed. The alcohol was forward, but I keep coming back to that sweet caramel flavour. The uncharitable would say that this is a simple way to create an old ale.

Bottle. (Brief tasting notes and rating from old records) - Sharp, very bitter, rich, malty hoppy ale with bitter hop aftertaste. Tasty beer. (Backlog)

500ml bottle from Asda. Pours quite a red brown with a small off white head. Aroma of dried fruit, with malt and hints of citrus. Sweet initially, with a little bitterness, flavors of malt, dried fruit, hops and warm spices.

Ciemny herbaciany kolor o lekko palonej obfitej pianie. Aromat cytrusow chmielu i ciastek. W smaku mozna jeszcze dodac orzechy i niezly slodko gorzki posmak.

Corpo medio, mediamente carbonata.

Dark amber with creamy head and soft carbonation. Earthy, hoppy nose with a hint of coffee. Taste is earth, biscuit, toffee, hay and a gentle bitter finish. Smooth palate, nice beer.
