COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ireland’s first and last Ard Ri (high king) of the whole Gaelic race, Brian Boru was born in Munster Ireland around 940. His mother was killed by Vikings when he was a child. He spent his life uniting the Irish tribes to become the first king of Ireland, only to be killed at Clontarf on Good Friday, 1014 putting down a rebellion by the King of the province of Leinster. Brian Boru Irish Brand Red Ale is a very rich caramelly ale with toffee, citrus, and pineapple aroma. Brian Boru is brewed with several malts and Amarillo hops. Slainte!

Jow (7338) - The Hop, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 18, 2024
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2024 Bottle random grab. Reddish amber and small head. Nose is grapefruit and malt. Tastes of honey, grapefruit, malt, hint of molasses and berry. Smooth. Not sure age on this bottle.

flatmatt (2274) - Northville, Michigan, USA - OCT 2, 2022
UPDATED: OCT 2, 2022 12 oz bottle. Pours an amber color with a lot of medium particles and an off-white head. Honey caramel aroma. Flavor malty biscuit, caramel, honey, citrus. It's pretty nice.

hman43 (4413) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JUL 19, 2022
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2022 It pours dark amber with an off white head. Head retention is good. It has strong malty aromas that feature toffee and low bread. There are also piney notes with some dark fruit elements. In the flavors the hops and fruits are up front feature pine and citrus with some dark fruits. There are some low toffee notes. It has a medium body with some dryness in the finish. The beer drinks like an American amber with the hoping. With that said, nice combination of hops.

glennmastrange (3554) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 23, 2022 Tap. Moderate malt notes of bread, roasted and caramel, light to moderate pine, slight soap and funky for the yeast, with dark dried fruit in the background. Head is average sized, frothy, off-white, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky light brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, slick, with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Nice representation of an Irish Red Ale with an unexpected boost of properly placed hops.

MaltOne (695) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 11, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2022 A very good beer... but either off type or a very American interpretation - the hop bitter dominates the 'caramel and toffee'. Pours a slightly hazy copper red as advertised, with light tan head that leaves a lasting foam cap. Light citrus and malt aroma. Taste is big bitter first; then a bit of tropical fruit and hint of sweet malt the close. Overall - a big beer, feels more like an IPA in taste - no complaints just sayin'.

explosivedog (12849) - New York, New York, USA - APR 9, 2022
UPDATED: APR 9, 2022 On tap at 4th Ave Pub. Pours copper. Malty, biscuit, little red fruit, little toffee. Medium body. Pretty good.

coachd (2863) - O'Fallon, Missouri, USA - MAR 18, 2022
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2022 Rich malty aroma with slight hops. Dark red body with a cream head. More hops than most red ales I have had, which is a good thing. Smoky finish, slight hops that fade away. Very nice red ale. Not a malt bomb like most I have had.

Susie33 (2617) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - MAR 6, 2022
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2022 Amber pour. Thin foam. Even lace. Heavy hops. Lemon, dandelion, and tea. Medium bodied and medium carbonation

obguthr (11684) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - MAR 6, 2022
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2022 Dandelion, dried leaves nose. Hazy copper, medium yellow head. Tea, meyer lemon and marigold accents. Medium body, easy carbonation. Well hopped, way too much for the style.

4.1
bhiner41 (226) - Darien, Illinois, USA - MAR 2, 2022
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2022 Pours an orange red color, thin head and little lacing. Like many 3F beers it has a fraternity house basement odor, not bad, just dank and not necessarily the same as the taste. I expected more carmel taste but had notes of pine and, to me, almost slightly orange peel. Good beer overall and a heck of a nice change when compared to other Irish Red Ales. Wish it had a Nitro variant available.
