April 25, 2015. Bottle, 2007 vintage. Shared by omhper, thanks!
Black with minimal tan head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, dark fruits, figs, raisins, slight notes of cherries, oak. Taste is medium sweet with dried fruits, licorice, light to medium roasted bitterness, slightly acidic with cherries and dry woody and roasted notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, a bit thin vinous finish.

[4/25/15] Bottle sample at a tasting at omhper’s place in Tyresö. Thanks omhper, AndySnow and hackobock for sharing great beers! 2007 bottle. Black with a small tan head. Nice aroma of chocolate, sherry, some dark fruits, and a bit of roast and coffee. Rather dry flavor with a sweetish note, and acidic touch, roast, some coffee, a bit of chocolate, oxidation, and a bit of fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Still nice.

Pour out of bottle, big thanks to Aaron for this gem! Dark black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark fruit, coffee, hints of slight celery, hints of earth, oak, touch of dark cocoa, a bit off. Taste is a mix of oak, cocoa, roast, hints of dark fruit notes into a bit of veggie, a bit of cardboard, finishing fairly bitter, dry. Tasty, but probably better a few years ago.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of a chill Swedish trader. Black appearance with a pretty decent dark brown head. Kind of dusty, cocoa powder, cookie, milky aroma. Fairly light bodied. A hint of chow mein / celery. Dusty / earthy, dark chocolate flavor. Dang, this one has likely fallen off significantly.

En besvikelse, trodde att några år på nacken skulle förgylla smakupplevelsen men fylligheten saknas och den blir en aning för lättdrucken.

Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted, smoke and coffee. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

500 ml bottle courtesy of Jonas (non-RB). Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a frothy brownish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet and very tiny sour with roasted malts, bitter chocolate, prunes, raisins, cereal, liquorice fudge, dark bread, vanilla, dry soil and hints of wood. Taste is sweet, tiy bitter and tiny sour with toasted malts, chocolate, sweetened coffee, prunes, dark grapes, wood, vanilla, dark bread, wood and hints of orange zest and hints of dusty oxidation. Mouthfeel is round, watery as light to medium bodies. Finish is sweet, bitter and sour with dark bread, wood, chocolate, coffee, prunes and liquorice root.

Thanks to GT2! Watern dark brown pour. Nose and flavor are marked by peaty smoke, bitter dark chocolate, caramel Rolos, and a touch of cardboard oxidation. Nice and interesting, but not great.

MrChopin (4305) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 6, 2012
dark murky dark brown large tan bubbled ring. Ashy berry nose, bit of brownie and dark chocolate. Flat body, lightly oily, dead palate. Bit of chocolate, paper. Soft, empty, flat.
