@GBBF - black beer with a moderate head retention; shy mineral nose with notes of tea; thin-bodied and with a low carbonation; watery minerally finish, light sweet and with a faint earthy bitterness

Cask at GBBF '18, day 1, 07/08/18. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is fruit slice, light charr, dried fruits, raisins. Taste comprises pipe tobacco, brown bread, dark fruits, pinch of spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough mild.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear reddish brown beer, small pale tan head. Light palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. A slight earthyness to the malts. Touch of cocoa. Tangy mellow dark fruits. Light finish. Not bad.

Scopey (19276) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - AUG 7, 2018
Cask at GBBF. It pours dark brown with a bubbly tan head. The aroma is cacao, liquorice, umami, bit chewy, wood, bark, meatness and spice. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, earthy, wood, cacao nibs, chewy, tannin, leather and dirt with a firmly dry finish. Light body and low carbonation.. Not sure what is crafty about it. Not bad anyhow.

harrisoni (21940) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - JUN 16, 2018
Cask gravity at Kent and East Sussex Railway BF 2018. Dark brown black beer lasting beige head. Chocolate coffee molasses aroma. Juicy dark mild in the mouth. Herby molasses on finish. Not my kind of dark mild but OK.

Nocturne (2561) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2015
Cask at The Station Inn, Ribblehead. Near black with a ruby hint. Compact off-white head. Red berries, cocoa, chocolatey. Ever so slightly sour. More dry than sweet. Pleasant enough flavours. Not much to complain about or to write home about.

allmyvinyl (12278) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 17, 2015
Cask at the borough, Lancaster. Pours clear amber brown with a thin off-white head. Aromas of light coffee, roast. Taste is more coffee, light mineral note. Dry finish. Nice mild.

jjsint (4542) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2015
Cask at the Manor Arms, Broughton-in-Furness. Dark brown and opaque. Northern creamy tan head. Scent of charcoal, liquorice and coffee, with softer undertones of violet and cream. Ambrosial sweet chalky taste from start to finish. Lovely big mouthfeel for the ABV. A well-executed mild, and thoroughly enjoyable.
