This special preview of our 2014 Kriek project features a blend of sour Red ales aged in oak wine barrels with Bing and sour pie cherries for up to 14 months. This single barrel release was then further aged on newly toasted French oak for an added oak presence and complexity.
2015 version from the barrel at the barrel house. Ruddy brown, cloudy. Big cherry nose, flavor follows, tons of acidity cutting through the vanilla and oak. Awesome.
Backlog: On tap at the Barrel House on 3/16/15. Deep mahogany color with an average beige head. Aroma is of tart cherry, berry, oak and pie crust. The pie crust carries over nicely into the taste with notes of tart cherry, berries, vanilla, black currant, and wood. Very nice.
