Bif (3162) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - MAR 31, 2013Served a mahogany color with a small head that fades to just bits of lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, spice and herbal. Taste of dark fruit, with a solid presence of malt in the background with some spice. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Medium body, smooth with a richness that increases as it warms. Enjoyable sipper, from a brewer that tends to lean towards british style ales. Worth checking out.
Jimthechap (2057) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 15, 2013It’s a brave brewery who attempts a Belgian ale in New Zealand. So often it goes wrong or misses the mark. What impressed me was that blindfolded I would have known exactly what it was supposed to be. Appeared dark amber with a cream coloured skim of head. The persistent carbonation gave a certain sherbety character in my mouth along with plenty of Belgian style flavours: tarts, orchard fruit and allspice, dates and even a hint of musty basement. True to character and enjoyable in form. Well done.
TimE (8459) - Tokyo, JAPAN - OCT 24, 2012very rich malty character with notes of caramel milk chocolate and cherries. Rich warming. Not massive complexity but well made and enjoyable. Alcohol is a bit present

This is a truly lovely beer. Even if the "Belgian" word seems scary, don’t be afraid. This is a big soft rich warming beer with fruitiness, sweetness and subtle alcohol. Like a cold northern Christmas to a Pom (me).
It’s a sipper, and it changes as it breathes and warms.
