Deep dark brown coloured body with deep oily black glow and a thin, two centimetre light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, raisins, figs and a lot of molasses - very nice compared to the light lagers. Medium-bodied; Deep roasty flavour with a lot of sweetness, but not much body, showing raisins and figs the strongest and the slightest hint of soy sauce and vanilla. Aftertaste is deep and strong with some alcohol coming through, a bit of metal and bitterness, but a nice solid beer. Overall, a good beer considering the options! I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from Takashimya Grocery/Department Store in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan on 12-August-2010 drank right in the city centre of Tokyo.

Pours nice, ruby black with thick tan head. pretty good retention. Nose is weak, smells like a raisinette. Taste is tolerable, cocoa, ampm coffee, melted aluminum, roasted shoe soles. foul metallic flavor is hard to shake, could be good, but isnt.
