Barentsz, bears & beer

When Willem Barentsz attempted to navigate the Northeast Passage, his crew fought twin terrors: polar bears and frozen beer. Our white ale, with its refreshing fruity notes, is a tribute to the restless and rugged spirit that kept Barentsz going.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2018 floral, citrus, beautiful subtle tones of elderflower and camomile in a super refreshing white beer style ale! Absolutely love this, and it would be a huge hit on draft!

Bottle from AH. The aroma has flower, citrus and spicy herbal tones. hazy, pale yellow coloured with a medium sized, white head. The taste is light bitter, citric, spicy. Light-medium bodied beer with average carbonation. Okay.

@Pooc - cloudy golden-blond with a decent head retention; perfumy aroma of elderflowers and wheat, some citrus too; moderate malt backbone, sweet and light tart; aftertaste of coriander and chamomile with lingering wheaty notes

Huge, dense snowwhite head over fully hazy yellow beer. Soapy nose, wheat, citrus, herbs, grains - and I get coriander, if not much. More of the same in the flavour, again soapy, fake citrus. Wheatslickness, good carbonation, seems medium bodied. Another witbier. 6/4/5/3/11

Cloudy, perlende lavt hoved lysegul. Hyldeblomst, appelsin og kamille, frisk, crispy, medium body, blomster og frugtrig. Som adviseret.

DraftDodger (2143) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 22, 2018
Copenhagen 22/4 2018. 33 cl bottle from Skjold Burne, Brønshøj. Bear waving at me on the label. Pours hazy pale yellow with small bubbly white head. Settles as lonely thin patch of foam in the center of the surface of the beer. Aroma is medium intense. Sweet and fruity. Medium strong sour notes. Medium carbonation. Thin, watery texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by slightly lighter sour bitterness. Aftertaste is sourish and flowery. Finish is semi-dry. As always nice to be reminded of summer - but to be honest this is pretty much the middle of the road. And I am not sure I understand the connection between Willem Barentsz' Polar adventures and a summery Witbier.
