COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Commemorating our 20th Anniversary and the creation of our new brewery, we pay homage to the ol’ days by introducing our first ever barrel-aged blend. Reforged 20th Anniversary Ale is a triple-barrel fusion of our three original high-gravity beers: Wee Heavy (Scotch Ale), Speedway Stout (Imperial Stout w/coffee), and Old Numbskull (Barley wine). A proprietary blend was carefully established by AleSmith’s elite Sensory Team of BJCP Beer Judges and Brew Team members. The result: A 100% barrel-aged brew which balances the oaky, rich flavors of bourbon with Wee Heavy’s vanilla notes, Speedway’s chocolatey coffee layers, and Old Numbskull’s caramel undertones. Share and celebrate this exclusive specialty with friends and family now or age at a cool temperature to enhance the beer’s numerous complexities. Cheers to twenty years!

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2018 Big trade tasting #3. Opaque black, small head. Insane amount of complexity AND balance. Vanilla, bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, leather, chocolate. Everlasting evolving finish. Phenomenal brew, perhaps even the best one of the entire trade.

Etched glass bottle - pours dark brown - nose and taste of boozy caramel, toffee, dates, bourbon and fig - full bodied.

Share bottle at Brewski. Pours murky brown with light tan head, rich in aroma (sticky date pudding?), uber-rich in taste. I'm a fan of all 3 base beers and they blend seamlessly with the barrel-aging. A delicious malt bomb: one unique American Quad

Oxford tasting
Black color, close to no head. The aroma is dominated by the spirit. Good body strength, but also a lot of alcohol to cut through it; malty, caramel, with some leather and other signs of oxidization, light tobacco, toasted nuts in the final, and booze.
Good strong beer, not very cohesive, and showing signs of age.

Pours black with a tan head. Woody aroma with toffee, caramel, barrel and chcolate. Tastes woody with coconut, vanilla, chocolate, toffee and bourbon notes. Medium body+

Dark brown, with a bubbly head. The aroma has a lot of bourbon, some rich toffee, subtle fruit, chocolate, a bit of booziness…really rich and complex. On the palate, you get pretty much the same character. Each of the base beers is contributing to the blend, and the massive barreling as well. So toffee, rich fruits, raisins, dates, and then that subtle coffee and chocolate from the Speedway, and then rounds out with some alcohol. There’s just a touch of sherry to this. Honestly, this is excellent. It’s at least as good as the sum of its parts.

Overtone of speedway, and balance of old numbskull, oak, vanilla, roast and dark coffee. Light bourbon spirit, balance, delicious

Poured from a 750ml bottle into a snifter. Dark brown, almost black with a thin tan head that slides cleanly off the glass. The aromas are many. Dark fruit, chocolate, roasted malts, woody, and with hints of bourbon. The taste starts sweet and then has waves of complexity that pick up everything in the aroma, but in varying ways. Full body with fine carbonation and somewhat viscous on the palate. The finish is long, and it continues in the same vein of complexity. Wow! So much going on ... and it all works in harmony. Nicely done.
