Autumn Farmhouse Ale is a harvest celebration of Pacific Northwest regional farms, brewed with organic Northwest base malts, organic oats from Green Willow Grains, Willamette Valley hops, and honey from Queen Bee Apiaries. This locally inspired ale features aromas of fruit and spice and a refining smoothness that balances a rustic hop finish. from Au Trappiste - light hazy blond beer with a white foam left; nice lace; funky aroma of oranges, marzipan and apples; medium-bodied., lively palate; some sweetness, gently sour; light residual sweetness in a funky and fruity finish

Ernest (7719) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 16, 2017
Bottle (Aug 2016 bottling). Head is initially average sized, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly lasting. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, lemon oil), lightly yeasty (basement, cobwebs), with light notes of lemon pith, pepper. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Just a bit too attenuated to be enjoyable to drink, and the aroma is not terribly complex, but it’s a solid rendition and doesn’t have the usual Americanisms. The light and watery body is probably the only gripe.

From August 2016 bottle it’s hazy gold with a sustained and sticky head. Pretty aroma is floral and citric / orange-like Cascade, with an earthy clay / silt yeast quality and a touch of banana ester, with more sharp, peppery phenols coming out with time and warmth. Airy and bouncy natural carbonation in a dry-ish approach turning to bitter lemon juice / citric acid and neutral malt further through, finishing oily-filmy and slightly warm. Fun aroma that outshines the drinking experience, the dryness and carbonation seem well proportioned, bitterness seems overwhelming though.

Robe dorée aux reflets ambrés, fine mousse persistante. Nez tout en élégance sur des notes fruitées, acidulés, pointe de céréales, de fruits exotiques, sur un fond d’épices et de houblon, complexe et agréable. Bouche à l’attaque finement acidulée, superbe fruit, bulle élégante et fraîche, belle finale fuitée et très raffraîchissante. Une très belle saison de plaisir et de soif.

Big fizzy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet mineraly, dried fruits, sap, yeast, minerals, honey, old orange peel, flowers, hay, light malts, bark, sawdust. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, hay, flowers, minerals, old orange peel, light malts, grass, bark, yeast, alcohol, sap. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh floral mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea, seems quite oxidized.

Alengrin (5438) - BELGIUM - APR 5, 2017
Honeyed farmhouse ale from a beer company in Oregon, from a 50 cl bottle. Very thick and rocky, bath foam-like, inches high, papery lacing, off-white, coarse head over a peach blonde, cloudy beer with ’dirty’ ochre tinge. Aroma of honeyed ’stroopwafels’, soap, white pepper, orange zest, warm apple cake, dried apricot, melting powder sugar, fresh camomile flowers, pink raspberries, hay, old dry lemon peel, sourdough, cloves, straw. Fruity onset, hints of pineapple, orange, pear and some banana, crisp and fizzy but not too sharply carbonated nonetheless, bready malt body, soft and juicy with sharper grainy edges, phenolic clove-like spiciness building up towards the finish along with aromatic honey aspects (clearly not all honey has been fermented here), hayish and herbal hop bitterness, floral, mildly bittering but still a bit peppery and sufficient to provide balance against the honey aspect, which sets this a bit apart from the classic saison standard. Rounded, soft and not at all extreme, but technically very accomplished interpretation of the style.

Hazy orange-gold color with a medium thick off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, vine fruit, citrus and malt. The finish is fruity with a yeast and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

A decent Saison. Pours a cloudy yellow with a foamy white head. Smells of honey and pepper, with classic Saison backing. Taste is quite dry, with more pepper, and a slightly bitter finish. Had in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy yellow to orange body with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty, orange peel, some honey but not over the top. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Light body, soft carbonation, bitter finish.
