COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name pays tribute to Scotland’s historic military regiment known as The Black Watch. With their dark tartan and mission to keep watch over the Highlands, Highland salutes these warriors with a dark mahogany colored brew that pours silky smooth. Black Watch Double Chocolate Milk Stout combines more than 100 pounds of cacao nibs with five malts, roasted barley, and flaked oats to create a rich, high-gravity ale reminiscent of brownie batter and marshmallows with an aromatic nose and a lingering dark chocolate finish.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2023 Bottle pour, dark brown pour. Strong dark chocolate aroma. Deep coffee and dark chocolate flavors, char and the milk stout component adds a nice soft element to the body.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2021 This is one of my all time favorites. Tons of chocolate, but not too sweet/ Definitely tastes like a milk stout. Great mouthfeel and silky smooth. One of the few things that I like about Winter.

Kleg (2976) - The Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 23, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2019 Bottle. Pours a pitch black color with a thick tan head and great retention. Great lacing too. Rich chocolate aroma. Rich dark chocolate flavor mixed with very dark roasted barley. Sweet, but not too much; Just enough to hide any bitterness. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. The 8.0% ABV and 45 IBU are both well hidden. Great balance and a great beer.

Aurelius (7030) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 6, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 Standard longneck, decent label. Squid ink black pour with a medium tan head - sticky that. Olivine roast, malty aroma with nuts and baker's chocolate. Sweet, satisfying, nicely bitter. Balance is very good and the flavors play well together. Chewy mouthfeel, dense bodied. Has a little bit of astringency in the end, which I consider a flaw. Righteous. ABC Liquors, Betton.
