courtesy of Antonio Rey - black beer with a dark beige foam left; nice lace; fairly roasted aroma of coffee beans and chili peppers; full-bodied, very sweet, grainy, solid carbonation, sugary finish of burnt plastic, coffee and grains, burning alcohol - pretty wrong

Bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’ place. Thanks Stas. Murky brown. Cold, old coffee, cigarette ash and brine in the nose, pepper, chili, bitterness in the mouth - but mostly peppery. Full body, briney finish.

3/IX/16 - 33cl bottle @ RBBSG V (Klaas’ place) - BB: 29/X/16, brewed: X/2015 (2016-999) Thanks to somebody for sharing the bottle!

Clear dark brown beer, big solid creamy beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of coffee, mocha, roasted, bit metallic, banana peel. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: very roasted start, bit sourish, lots of coffee, bitter, bit hoppy, alcohol. Aftertaste: coffee, more coffee, sourish touch, alcohol, quite some caramel as well.

Bottle 0.33l at Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016 Evergem, Belgium. 03.09.2016. Thanks Klaas for hosting and RB guys for sharing today’s beers. Pour it dark color with small black head. Aroma roasted coffee beans. Taste starts with smooth roasted coffee and continues with that taste all the time, maybe even too much, medium body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish.

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle at RBBSG 2016 in Evergem. Very dark brown to black with a light brown head. Roasty-malty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and hazelnut. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee and dark ripe fruits, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, a little warming-alcoholic finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very nice!

Thank you for sharing! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG V. Black with a solid dark mocha head, classical & pleasant looking beer. Coffee in the nose is unfortunately very vegetable, herbal licorice notes with some charred herbal coffee & bread. Body is thin, fizzy & grainy. Taste is overly vegetable coffee, thin vegetable, herbal, fizzy grounds. Not a success for me. Funny that whilst I appreciated their far more odd sounding “Hoppy Dark Gose” this far more conventional & easy pleasing beer fell flat for me.

Benzai (15711) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - SEP 4, 2016
Sampled @ Ratebeer Belgian Summer Gathering 2016. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown head. Very nice heavy coffee aroma, malts, dark malts. Taste malts, dark and lightly roasted malts, coffee, coffee and malt bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice.
