COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duvel Tripel Hop is brewed with three hop varieties and each year the third hop is changed to provide its own unique taste and aroma. This keeps the final flavor profile surprisingly exciting for any true beer lover. For 2016 our brewers selected HBC 291 from the Yakima Valley in the USA. By using three instead of two hop varieties to brew, we obtain additional hop aromas and an increased bitterness. The typical Duvel palate is enriched with HBC 291 hops providing fresh notes of citrus, black pepper, lavender and roses. HBC 291 hops are added again during ’dry-hopping’, extracting additional hop aromas into the beer. The higher aromatic intensity rounds out the beer, backing the final alcohol content of 9.5%.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2020 Backlog, really strong chewy hops in the one, not particularly well balanced IMO.

Svesse (14202) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 23, 2020
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2020 (Bottle) Golden colour, slightly hazy, with frothy white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with peaches, orange, honey and elderflowers. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of peaches, citrus, orange, honey, green apples, earthy yeast and a gentle citric, floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Elegant and complex, well made as usual. Very nice.

ManVsBeer (19488) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2020 Bottle from Booths Supermarket, Media City. Light golden with a head. It is hoppy as you would expect, but a little bland in taste with a modicum of fruit available here. Its strength is very evident in its nose.

Swiezy (303) - POLAND - JAN 5, 2020
Duvel vs Duvel Triple Hop 0-1

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2019 Bottle. Note: expiry 06 2018. Golden, medium head, super caramel nose with clean citrus hints. Flavor is predominantly Duvel caramel, very crisp smooth bitterness at the finish with Mandarin peel, great carbonation.

mcberko (41820) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 2, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2019 330mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is a little oxidized, with Belgian yeast, light floral hops, and candied notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with a nice Belgian yeast character, with candied sugar, cotton candy, and some cardboard. Not at peak level, but it’s solid.

Hamirubi (642) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - JUN 1, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2019 33cl bottle at home (1 V 2019), as Duvel Tripel Hop Experimental Hop HBC 291 (Styrian Golding). Large frothy white headed, yellow to golden Duvel with orange-green gloom. Towering hops and coriander notes with different citrus, yellow berries and zeste flavours, already hinting at a hoppy tripel with grand ABV. The mouthfeel has a stringent malt-hops balance, with quite a dry throat. Think also of leaves. The tongue is left with little sour features, such as rhubarb and gooseberry. One can notice the milk and yeasty background. The body is rather heavy - to be expected - yet the hybrid cartloads of hops and the heavy dashes of malts almost feels like a sketchy brewer's essay. Although this is not the best experiment, this brew still is a very solid, trademark Duvel Tripel Hop.

PissedAgain (18) - Four Marks, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 1, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2019 Massive head, completely fills the glass on pouring slowly and carefully. Looks like meringue. Needs a minute or two to settle. Beer hazy, pale yellow, smell pleasant, hoppy, slightly tropical. Taste sweetish, restrained citrus lemon, with a saison background, faint bitterness, distinct alcohol note. Pleasant, easy drinking, lacking the in your face hop flavours of many modern craft beers, more restrained. Excellent value for money, and worth trying.
