COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duvel Tripel Hop is brewed with three hop varieties and each year the third hop is changed to provide its own unique taste and aroma. This keeps the final flavor profile surprisingly exciting for any true beer lover. For 2016 our brewers selected HBC 291 from the Yakima Valley in the USA.

By using three instead of two hop varieties to brew, we obtain additional hop aromas and an increased bitterness. The typical Duvel palate is enriched with HBC 291 hops providing fresh notes of citrus, black pepper, lavender and roses.

HBC 291 hops are added again during ’dry-hopping’, extracting additional hop aromas into the beer. The higher aromatic intensity rounds out the beer, backing the final alcohol content of 9.5%.

PissedAgain (9) - Four Marks, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 1, 2019 does not count
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2019 Massive head, completely fills the glass on pouring slowly and carefully. Looks like meringue. Needs a minute or two to settle. Beer hazy, pale yellow, smell pleasant, hoppy, slightly tropical. Taste sweetish, restrained citrus lemon, with a saison background, faint bitterness, distinct alcohol note. Pleasant, easy drinking, lacking the in your face hop flavours of many modern craft beers, more restrained. Excellent value for money, and worth trying.

Robe jaune paille, limpide, mousse très abondante, à grosses bulles, tenace. Bonne carbonation.

Yeasty, slightly hoppy, very high alcohol. Lots of flavor but was expecting hops to dominate.

Interesting. Pours like a psychopath, massive bubbly lacing and head. Big, new world, sherbet lemon presence in the nose and the early taste, before it gets bready and Belgian. All of which I love, because I love such hoppy beers...but it kind of loses what makes it Belgian, and Duvel. The hop mask the 9.5%...which you kind of don't want with such. beer. The booziness is lost. But the concept, and the expression...are great...and it is a VERY drinkable beer!

Decent Belgian with a slightly more hoppy presence. Not as good as the base beer. Sweeter.

Aus der Flasche beim Hopfen und Malz Berlin 2016-04 getrunken. Diese helle und recht hefelastiges Bier kommt mit seiner deutlichen Hopfennote recht herb daher. Doch es ist übberraschend süffig.

It’s a bit out there. But it’s a very dignified out there. Think Tony Armstrong-Jones over Lady Gaga ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
