phaleslu (9854) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2017
Draft served in a flight at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a deep brown color with amber edges and a small beige head that settles into a thin ring. Really smoky, with some peat, dark chocolate, roasted malts, earth, and umami and boozy notes. Medium-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a smoky mouthfeel that finishes dry. Good smoky stout.

Peated, smokey scotch aroma. Deep brown color with an off-white head that settles to a sudsy ring. Starts smokey then gets almost tart but not quite with some apple notes and a light scotch finish. Aromas are deceptive; I was expecting a big malty booze bomb.
