On tap at Man in the Moon. Golden with a white head. Kind of soft with grass, light hops and some bread. The finish was on the dry side.

UPDATED: SEP 23, 2018 Bottle, 500 ml @ The Old Fishing Shack. Clean light golden with decent 1 finger white foam. Sweet malt and some red apple, it has a light fruity character. Mouthfully sweet malt taste balanced with nice bitterness. Great for watching NFL. Tasty Pilsner from a nice Monastry Brewery.

Bottle. Pours crystal clear, light golden with tightly compacted medium bubbles. Good head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is fresh grains, toasted cereals, with hints of hay. Flavour is toasted grains, grainy cereals, sweet honeyed malts in the background. Low bitterness. Great motuthfeel, medium body. Very refreshing and good. I like it.

I'm drinking this alongside Jever, which is my favourite pilsener so far, though I'm only beginning my exploration of the style. To be honest, I can hardly tell the difference--this is just as good, which is praise in my book. I'm more a helles than pils lover, because I prefer the malty, honeyish tastes of the helles. I find pilseners more austere, but this is a beautifully balanced brew, with a slight honeyish malt tinge of its own, held in by a parcel of light hoppiness. The mouthfeel is full and the flavour assertive, within the restraints of the easy-drinking nature of pilseners. This isn't a hoppy beer in the sense of an IPA, but the hops play their part, rounding things off with a satisfying dry finish. Needless to say, this quality German pilsener is pure-tasting, with none of the chemical or metallic notes you can pick up in big commercial lagers.
