UPDATED: APR 21, 2019 11.2oz bottle. Pours mahogany with a moderate beige head. Aroma is nuts, molasses, toast, light roast, some yeast, and prune. Taste is nuts, yeast, caramel, grain, some molasses, some prune, a little wood, a hint of cocoa, and slight char right before the finish. Some earthy bitterness. Light-medium body. Moderate, prickly carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Incredibly complex, especially at 4.7% ABV, but something about the initial sweetness keeps me from liking this as much as I should. UPDATED: APR 7, 2019 Pours clear mahogany with a three finger, tan head. Aroma is caramel, roast and Munich hops. Taste is caramel and plum, moving to roast and light almonds. Finish is nutty. A dunkel that is a classic. MeadPours36 (2) - - FEB 6, 2019 does not count
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2019 I felt the nose truly matched the palate. It was quite refreshing for the style of beer that it is. The malts truly had some wavy tones, while the bitterness was retained and the beer was creamy. Yumm, would buy again ichijo3 (137) - - JAN 12, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2019 Sehr malziger Geruch, süßlich. Dunkelbraun, klar, leichter Rotschimmer, feiner Schaum.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2018 At Bauhaus with BAryy and Ryan, reddish brown color with medium off white head. Notes of Dark cherry, prunes, rye bread, grass, and other German Earth. Just the right amount of fruity sweetness. goozen (4463) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - NOV 24, 2018
Bottle 0,5ltr: Dark brown colored brew with an velvet dry bitter taste with some faintly sweetness. Hints of caramel, cocoa powder and nuts which gives the slightly sweetness. bilcho1 (891) - Ruse, BULGARIA - NOV 7, 2018
500ml bottle from the shop, drunk at home on a cool, cloudy November afternoon. Pours clear with a thick fluffy head that lasted a minute, very heavy lacing but no visible rising carbonation. Deep garnet in colour. Aromas of roasted malts, toast, molasses and light estery fig and raisin - like a Dunkel with a touch of Abbey Dubbel. In the mouth, medium carbonation, minimal sweetness at first but rising through the palate, a gentle touch of roast sourness, medium texture, flavours similar to the aromas with an added dose of caramel, mild bitterness with a medium-length finish. Overall, with a touch of yeastiness, as good as a Dunkel ever needs to be. FinnIckler (1311) - Berlin, Berlin, GERMANY - OCT 26, 2018
Bottle from the corte ingles in Sol. Nose is cocoa, bread, nice dark smells. Palate is a bit metallic, but otherwise nice bready and toasty. Decent.
