COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The key to the distinctive flavour is the use of quality ingredients. Using a much higher hopping level than most Australian Lagers, James Squire Pilsener is brewed with Czech Saaz and New Zealand Belgian Saaz aroma hops to produce the pronounced floral spicy finish and the wonderful herbaceous aroma.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2020 Although in love with James Squire brewery, this pils is simply ok. Can not compare to proper pilsners from the Euro zone.

Tap at the Crafty Squire, Russell St Melbourne. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is malt woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a grainy malt light dry spice woody light floral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Keg. Clear golden yellow with a small and mostly lasting, somewhat lacing white head. Pale malt, biscuit, bread, citrus and grain characters across the board. Finishes with a pithy bitterness of moderate length and intensity. Light to medium body and medium carbonation.

On tap at The Charming Squire, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out grassy notes and a little tropical fruitiness. Flavour brings out lots of tropical fruitiness and grassy notes. Doesn’t really strike me as a pilsner, but it’s clean and fresh and juicy. Solid stuff.

Good light beer. Very easy drinkability. It fits very nicely with a beef burger. Best served ice cold. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Found notes from my 2009 trip to Australia. Good refreshing beer. Not as tasty as the Amber.
