UPDATED: JAN 13, 2019 Das Bier war für meinen Geschmack sehr unrund, da die Orange die bittere im Bier hervorhebt und dadurch extrem kantig macht. Wer sehr bitteres mag, für den ist das Bier sicher interessant.

Bought as park of a winter mixer pack fron the LCBO. Smells very sweet, sugary. Pours a medium gold with a red tinge. Head lasts to the end. Taste is sweet, even for a tripel. Little bit of a malty taste. Good carbonation. Slight aftertaste. Overall I was very happy to try this, and would buy again. MB The Beer "Bear"on.

Pours amber with a big white head. Aroma is spicy. Taste is sweet with notes of herbs, spices, malt. I had a hard time picking the flavours out of this. Overly carbonated. Very different

From elcervecero. In Duvel glass. Watching Breaking bad 5x03. Nice caramel touch. Good aroma. Very enjoyable

Alengrin (7270) - BELGIUM - AUG 19, 2014
The original version of the amber beer in this series, tasted in 2004. Deep amber colour, delicate flowery aroma with herbal hops, dried fruits and spicy notes; caramelly and nutty malts, refined, subtle fruit and yeast, quite full mouthfeel, herbal hoppy finish. Nice amber, a stronger version of a classic ’spéciale belge’.

Thx. to Dave for this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. I actually tried a bottle of “Zalig Kerstfeest & Gelukkig Nieuwjaar” from Willems or something like that but I am too lazy too add it & I am 85 % certain that it is a re-labeling of this beer. Pours a darker amber / orange with a solid white head. Smell is caramel, sugar, BE yeast, herbs, very sweet, white sugar. Taste is sweet yeast, sugary, BE spices, floral, fruity, esters. Medium bodied with too much carbonation – agreeable.

75cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013 as ’Het Anker Zalig Kerstfeest’.

Transfering data from personal beer file. I drank this beer a long time ago. I’ll update this rating if I have the chance to drink it again.

From backlog

Head: white, creamy, small
Colour: dark amber
Smell: malts, spices, candy, herbs, tiny bit irony
Taste: start is a bit irony but is flushed away immediatly with a malty spiced up flavour, then comes in a bit of a nuty flavour , end is dry , good but a bit more body would be cool !
