COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We spent over a year prototyping R&D versions of Nu Skool. This final version is one special beer. It is an IPA with a slight malty sweetness, but overall balanced & brimming with tropical, fruity, spicy, piney & citrus character. To contrast our IPA, which most closely resembles a traditional English IPA in malt & hop bills, we wanted to brew an India Pale Ale in a new way. West Coast brewers have been brewing lighter, more "Americanized" yet still full of hop character & our brewers wanted to try their hand by brewing their take. HOP PROCESS: We used 3.5 lbs. of "new school" varieties of hops per barrel of beer. We load our hopback to the brim with Mosaic hops for a big tropical fruit character. A nice whirlpool dose of experimental hop #07270 gives the beer a flavorful, resinous character. We then dry hop this beer on two separate days with a large amount of Mosaic hops in our hop cannon & Simcoe + Equinox two days later.

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2019 Clear golden orange. A little on the malty side, but the sweeter tropical and citrus forward hops play nice with lightly spicy and pine forward hops. Good, if mellower.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2019 Part of their Overpack'd 15-pack from Publix in Kissimmee, Florida. Clean light-golden colour with great tiny-bubble carbonation, a white frothy head, decent stay and some foamy lace. Hoppy aromas with the citrus and tropical fruit notes. The taste is quite bitter with the grass bite. Citrus as well here, and the tropical hints are very light. A very dry mouthfeel. Pretty good if you like Mosaic and other newer hops.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2018 So I had this near the end of a long night of drinking with some college buddies I hadn't seen in years. Probably shouldn't even rate it, as my memory was that it was good but maybe not Southern Tier quality good.

Hazy super rindy citric IPA. Hazy yellow with lots of scattered white lace. Intensely rindy with a long drawn out bitter finish. Very juicy. Nu school indeed.

Quick3Beers (1951) - East Falmouth, USA - AUG 28, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 28, 2018 Pours a clear dark straw color from a can, minimal lacing, thick head made of large bubbles quickly dissipates. Stone fruit in the aroma along with a bit of grass and earth, nice. Flavor a little less strong and thin. Good beer.
