COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oude geuze single cask "79". The Lambic was left in the cask one year longer than for the VAT 44 and VAT 77.

May 2017 - Bottle share at Leighton’s. Many thanks to Paul Scopey. As ’Boon Oude Geuze VAT 79’. Dark orange, hazy, lightly sparkling, foamy off-white head, light lacing. Aroma is peachy, musty, light metallics, sherbet. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is again peachy, straw, sherbet orange, light acidity. Very tasty indeed. (4.1)

Bottle. Clear golden color. Aroma is barrel sugar, vanilla, citrus lambic funk. Taste is farty, vanilla, shortbread. Oily mouthfeel. Nice aroma, but too much in alcohol.

Hazy amber with little white head. Aroma is vanilla, peach, grapes, berries, some shortbread. Taste is sweet shortbread with lots of grapes and some plastic. Nice full body. Rather bitter finish. But fits together. Good.

Bottle. Pours clear golden. Aroma funky, but also clear barrel sweetness. Body is medium, and actually quite strong for a Lambic. Booze is noticeable. Vanilla. Sweet, but still quite sour. Shortbread. Good, but really much stronger than a usual Lambic. Good!

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of brett, wood, caramel, funk, and malt. The flavor is a bit acidic with notes of funk, brett, caramel, and straw, leading to a tart finish.

375ml bottle - thanks martjoobolut! (7:3:7:3:13=3.3)
Lovely apricot woodiness aroma. Damn, this is spot on. Even has a head. Lovely beer. (Anna says: Gentle apricot aroma, nicely balanced with no sign of the alcohol. The taste is similar: very smooth but with plenty of nice bite and the pleasant apricot. Again, very well crafted, and I think I got Phil to admit that ths is an under-rate. Full in the mouth etc. Will revisit!)
