Pretty good but not my favorite. Has a nice hoppiness but could use a little more bite.

33 cl can @ home. Canned on 17.01.2017.
Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Grassy hops on the nose, faint caramel, hay, some orange and subtle pine notes. Flavor is somewhat harsh bitter and grassy, slick, a bit malty, dried fruit notes, some mild off-notes too. A bit old and rough around the edges. Meh.

(Can) clear, bright yellow orange colour with a small white head; aroma of grapefruit, other citrus; dry, assertive flavour with a long, moderate bitter finish, a pils ipa?

12 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 2/21/2017. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden/yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.6%. Overall this is an awesome hoppy pilsener. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. Very vibrant and dank on hops; with a solid malt backbone to balance. A really delicious offering.

Nice clear golden pour out of an awesomely designed can. Nice grassy aroma followed by a clean crisp taste with a distinct hop bite especially nice for a pilsener. Excellent easy drinking beer. Probably my favorite pilsner ever.

Can from Discount. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Big hop-forward nose with citrus, pineapple and dank weed notes. Clean and crisp with good hop character throughout and enough malt to hold it together. Easy drinking but could easily go for a few cans. Dry finish with some muted bitterness. Awesome really.

DOC: 11/11/2016

2015 BJCP Category: 18B American Pale Ale

AROMA: Moderately high spicy hops plus some lemony notes. Low grainy malt presence. No adjuncts, no off flavors. 10/12

APPEARANCE: Pale gold hue with a cloudy body. Moderate white soapy foam retains and laces well. 2/3

FLAVOR: The American hops impart fairly strong citrusy flavors, though a classic Noble hop spiciness is present. Malt base is clean grainy malt with little distinctive character and almost no sweetness. Hops linger momentarily but are not astringent. Slight tartness as well. Whether a true lager or an ale, the fermentation profile is clean. 17/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body over moderate carbonation. Slightly crisp, but smooth and quaffable. Refreshing while in the mouth, but with a residual hoppy aftertaste. Highly efficient and sessionable at 4.6% ABV. 5/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Though marketed as a "hoppy pilsner," this is probably better considered an APA and works well as such. 9/10

TOTAL SCORE: 43/50
