UPDATED: DEC 23, 2018 Zwart bier met fijne mokkakleurige schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt tot fijn laagje. Donker fruit, chocolade, pruimen, dadels, kastanje. Ietwat zoete stout maar wel zeer lekker. kajser27 (2673) - Zagreb, CROATIA - OCT 5, 2018

11.2oz bottle from State Line, marked 31 MEI 2018, which I'm not sure I do actually understand. A "bottom-fermented Imperial Stout" is a great idea and one I'm surprised I hadn't thought of. Nose superheavy premium dark chocolate with some mild earth and wisps of smoke. Pour sludgy and opaque medium brown that collects to much darker brown, head short tan, slight legs but no lace. Sludgy, muddy feel in the mouth, very full and heavy with medium mineral, low bitterness, medium or even low sweetness, but tannic and chocolate astringencies, grain. Lightly sticky lips and licorice. A bit of dark coffee, a bit of red berry and lesser grape, very clean and smooth straight through, though it seems impossible to pour without loading up the glass with yeast (this has been in my fridge for a week). Good strong caramel mixing well with subdued alcohol, bit of slight warmth later on but no heat or sharp edges. Flabby but somewhat comforting. A bit of a middle-of-the-road offering on the stout spectrum, doesn't get brutally dry and roasty nor sickly sweet and syrupy, but a good exploration of this territory and masterful work with higher alcohols (absolutely zero fusel presence). Tap. Practically black color, magnificent coffee foam. Hard and dense aroma: caramel, chocolate and dried fruits, prunes, bread crust. Taste: sweet, caramel, prunes, brandy, coffee, bitterly, licorice, a little bit rude and severe. mrjez (995) - Osaka, JAPAN - APR 6, 2018
Bottle from Sugaya. Pours a deep brown with mahogany light at the edges, next to no head. Great aroma, rich chocolatey malts, dark berries, soy and booze. Flavour is like a rich choc pudding with plums and blackberries. Low carb and thick on the palate but a dry finish welcoming you back, lingering dark choc, high ABV not affecting drinkability at all. Lovely stuff. LazyPyro (3368) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 28, 2018
330ml bottle. Imperial Stout Lager is a new one to me. Pours very dark brown, no head whatsoever. Fairly typical aroma of rich dark fruits, malty, light roasted notes, chocolate. Taste of rich dark fruits, raisin, roast malts, chocolate, liquorice, sweet, alcohol is really well hidden. Medium body, fine carbonation, actually pretty thin considering what a massive stout this is supposed to be, other than that a really nice beer. ALIBALI (4144) - Kiel, GERMANY - FEB 24, 2018
