Pours brown from the bottle. The crown soon fades to a thin, whispy layer. Aroma is quite nutty, reminding me more of a nut brown ale than a Dubbel. Overall full of nuts and ash. Perhaps a touch of tobacco. Taste is less interesting, mildly bittersweet on a palate that feels too watery. Mediocre overall. kto (2578) - SWITZERLAND - JUL 3, 2016
0.5l bottle from strasbourg biere import. pours a cloudy dark chestnut with a medium tan head and some lacing. aroma of hops, roasted malts, leather. flavour of nuts, cola, rye bread. quite dry. I’d say it is a schwarzbier and not a dubbel, but what do I know. not bad as a schwarzbier. GvanGool (180) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 28, 2016
Bought a bottle with label "la biere de l'oncle Hansi" with a nice image of Hansi. This is the saint-Pierre Brune.
A strong odour of sugar sirup. The taste is by far not as sweet as the smell of the beer. The taste is flat and does not stay for long in the mouth.
Little acud fresh yeast taste.

Simple brown malts, mellow brown bread, fruity yeast. Watery taste, but it’s okay I suppose. But like a Dunkel that’s poorly made and with fruitier yeast. I don’t care much for it. (50cl bottle from Auchan Saint Cyr sur Loire) Mariusz (12955) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - SEP 24, 2014

[ As La Saint-Pierre Biére Brune Traditione ].
Clear medium red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, caramelized malt, light to moderate yeasty, spicy. Flavour is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, tart, caramel, sugary tart, berry notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
