Thank you tderoeck! Sampled draft @ VCBF 2017. Bark brown to black, creamy mocha head. Nose is nice cheesy mocha head, good pine resin & citrus hop. Taste is bitter roast, cheesy, grapefruit peel, herbal roots, chocolate, cacao, bitter herbs finish, doesn’t come entirely together but overall quite a nice one. Lightly grainy, bitter hops body.

Donkerbruin tot zwart bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: geroosterde mout, hoppig, bessen, koffie. Smaak: mooie balans tussen hopbitterheid en geroosterde moutbitterheid (al mag de hopbitterheid wel overwegen bij Black IPA!). Medium body. Lichte koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: bitter en wat aards.

On tap at VCBF17, Belgium. Nose is dark chocolate, citrus. Body is pitch black, head is medium, beige, frothy, average lasting, excellent lacing. Aroma is citrus, dark chocolate, black tea. Light sweet, medium to heavy roasty bitter. Finish is long lasting hoppy and roasty bitter. Medium bitter, dry texture, soft carbonation. Quite easy dessertish beer, very tasty, bit overhopped but I like it, great one.

Drank at VCBF 10-06-17. Very drinkable black IPA. A bit thin for me though.

I bought this bottle from Amstein. I drank it tonight at Bonfol after a long walk and a nice meal. In my point of view, it is a delicious beer, it seems to be a stout. The color is a deep black body, thin and white foam, regular carbonation. The taste is well balanced, roasted malt, hop, dry, there are small notes of vanilla, robust and strong bitterness, perfect reading a book.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown to black color forming a medium, creamy and persistent dark beige head that forms a lot of lingering and molasses lacings in the glass. S: Nose is very roasty and flowery. Strong notes of roasted malts, caramel malts, sweet bread and grassy hops. Notes of brown bread and earth. T: Sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel and roasted malts. Dark chocolate. Hints of dark chocolate and brown bread. Notes of dark dry fruits, orange zest and grass. Good hops bitterness in the end. M: Medium body and carbonation. Roasted malts and grassy hops in the aftertaste. Persistent bitterness. O: Great drinkability. Great Black IPA made in Switzerland.

Couleur brun foncé; mousse beige; arômes et goût maltés, de café et de chocolat; l’alcool est un poil trop présent; finale moyennement amère

Pitch black with a light off white head, good lacings. Aromas of roasted malts, toasted white bread, instant coffee, bitter chocolate and liquorice develop, offering subtle herbal and light redberry notes. Fine carbonation with a light tangyness, rather smooth with a pronounced body. Chocolatey, toasty sweetness with a light coffee acidity and a solid roast bitterness. Lasting finish. Overall pretty good, harmonic but could definitely use more of a hop profile for style, or less intensity in the malt bill.
