The first in our Imperial Stout series. We’ve been dying to brew this. This version was totally inspired by Local Homebrewing God, Lee Goudie. A massive Stout. You’re welcome. Drink now, or save for after the ’summer’..

8% version. Pours completely black with a big medium tan head. Aroma is sweet, dark raisins, slightly grassy/herbal, vinous, almost like port. Taste is a lovely rich, sweetness up front, that gets richer and darker. Cinnamon, subtle smoke, dark roast coffee. Finishes with a nice, dark bitterness that lingers for a good while. Low carbonation, medium-full bodied. Really, really good. Even has a nice poem on the back of the bottle!

Tap. At the Lincolnshire Poacher. Pours black with tan top. Aroma dark fruit cake and coffee. Taste is medium to full richly sweet and alcoholic like the spongy portion of whiskey trifle. Palate full to medium bodied soft carbonation rich smooth texture and a long finish. An impressive debut for the Boundary. I hope it features in a Belfast Christmas.

7.4%ABV. Stout

Poured out black. 40SRM.

Nose has sweet malt funk, coffee and dark chocolate hints.

Mouthfeel is egg cream. There is carbonation, coupled with a creaminess. Palate is fruity, coffee berries, raisins, scorched burnt sugar. There is a prune flavor in here, but in a very pleasant way like ume prunes with a black-forest like character.

Finish is sweet, scorched wood, hint of alcohol on the back end.

Overall, a really sweet, woody ale with charcoal accents with pronounced carbonation.
