UPDATED: APR 14, 2022 Tap at Circus, Rimini, Italy. Pours brilliant red amber, with very fine white foam. Aroma is malty and caramel. Body is full, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, continuing also in the final. Overall, not very interesting.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2019 Una strong ale caratterizzata da un aroma leggero di malto tostato, caramello e alcol. In bocca l'alcol diventa dominante lasciando poco spazio agli altri sapori. Una birra dolciastra dal corpo medio-leggero.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2019 Bottle at Bar Bra, Verona, Italy, Saturday 7th September 2019. I remember drinking this beer about 30 years ago when working on the IOW, I'm sure it was brewed by Courage back then. Pours copper, good clarity, white head. Malty and quite robust, some toffee and caramel, fruit. Fine if a lacking a little finesse.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2019 330ml bottle from the Coop in Pisa, drunk at the hotel on a rainy April evening. Pours clear mid amber with a fluffy white head, heavy lacing but no visible rising carbonation. On the nose, sweet caramel malts, faint estery raisin, marmalade. In the mouth, sweetness from the start, low carbonation, mild bitterness, medium texture, malty and yeasty flavours similar to the aromas, low bitterness with a sweet finish. Overall, some good flavours but lacking crispness and definition.
