UPDATED: MAR 25, 2024 Bottle from Wine Raks, St Swithin St. It pours clear oily golden - amber with a a lasting, fluffy white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, oily, perfumed, dried apples, pear drops, melon, candy, boiled sweets, caramel, toasty brown sugars, toasty grain and some sponge cake. The taste is firmly dry, bitter - sweet, sweet - sour, damp grain, grassy vibes, herbal, spicy, floral, pear, apple, melon, kick of fairly alcohol, toasty grain and straw with a drying, spicy finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Nice fruity twang, if a touch raw in the booze front.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2024 From a 75 cl shared bottle. French version from Kronenbourg at 8.0 % abv. Clear, amber-golden colour with a dense white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, spices, and fruits. The taste is light sweet. Medium to full body. Slightly drying fruity spicy finish with some alcohol dense notes. Fair, somewhat basic.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2024 75 cL 'Triple d'Abbaye' 8.0% from Meny Aarup. Clear amber with a fuzzy, but quickly diminishing head. Aroma is malty and yeasty. Notes of juniper, carnation, hops. Taste is similar to the aroma, quite sweet. Medium-bodied, somewhat watery, high carbonation, warm alcohol. 5-3-7-3-12

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2023 Kolor złoty, klarowny. Płyn przykrywa bardzo ładna piana. Jest biała, drobno pęcherzykowa, wysoka i trwała. Pozostawia sporo zdobień przypominających krążkowanie. Aromat lekko kwaskowy, dalej drożdżowość, nuty słodowe, odrobina akcentów owocowych. Smak słodki z lekką kwaśną nutką, ewoluujący w kierunku wytrawnym. Alkohol dobrze schowany. Wysycenie wysokie, nie przeszkadza. Ciało średnie. Gładka tekstura. Posmak słodki z wytrawniejszym finiszem.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2022 Das Grimbergen Tripel hat Hopfenextrakt, Zucker und Glukosesirup auf der Zutatenliste, was meine Vorfreude deutlich schmälert. Beim Einschenken brauche ich viel Zeit, weil der feinporige Schaum so standfest und üppig ist, dass es erst in ein paar Minuten trinkfertig ist. Die Farbe ist geldgelb und klar, was für ein Tripel ungewöhnlich ist. Der Geruch ist dominiert von belgischer Hefe mit Pfirsich mit Dörrobst im Hintergrund. Gar nicht schlecht! Beim Antrunk sehr starker Körper mit geringer Rezenz. Wir haben ordentlich Karamell und süßen Gesamteindruck. Dabei aber noch Pflaume, Hefe und Beerenfrucht. Beim Abgang mehr Alkohol und insgesamt bitterer. Trotzdem verbleibt das Karamell bis zum Schluss. Tolle Aromen und würdiges Tripel bei fragwürdigen Zutaten. 08-2020
