Tasted 21/4/2018. Mahogany coloured, Fisherman's Friends included, winey and sticky. Quite nice actually.

SloaneRanger (176) - - FEB 7, 2018
Tammen ruskea lasissa jättäen pienen vaahdon. Tuoksu on hieman hedelmäinen, makea ja tamminen. Maussa on jälleen makeutta, toffeeta ja lopussa selvästi alkoholin vivahdetta. Aika tiukka suutuntuma. Lopuksi tuntuu myös kotikaljamaista maltaisuutta.

Psytron (3105) - Turku, FINLAND - DEC 24, 2017
ABV 11.0. Smell of oak, sherry, Brown colour, beige head. Aroma of oak, sherry, alcohol, raisins. Very sweet. Flat carbon. Viscous texture, very heavy body.

330ml bottle (Viisi Pennia, Helsinki) at 11% (7:4:8:4:15=3.8)
Light orange to cupric, depending on the angle of the light, beige head. Nice rich nettley woody spiciness in the aroma, sweet toffee aspects too. Lovely full palate, soft-to-moussey carbonation. Taste is basically the aroma ramped up to 11. Retronasals are super-spicy - nettles and zest. I can taste the oloroso influence, but it’s not too sugary. BB is 2018/11, so this is probably only 4 months old, but it’s not tasting raw at all. Finish is pleasantly bitter and spicy. Damn, this is a lovely characterful barley wine.

Kavu (6271) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUL 27, 2017

Erasmus_ro (3438) - Alabama, USA - JUL 15, 2017
Bottle, 14/07/17, Finnish beer #700. Pours a dark brown with a small, beige head. Aroma has dark fruitiness, grape, strong caramel, dried fruit, some sherry and slight oak detectable. Raisin. Taste is caramel, raisin, dried fruit, sweet, dark fruit. Somewhat boozy unfortunately.

Marstonlad (1141) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 17, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2017 Bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours reddish brown with a little white head. The aroma features strong sweet maltiness, ripe fruitiness and some spiciness; caramel, fudge, raisin, vanilla. Taste is intense; it is built on rich, aged maltiness with substantial ripe fruitiness. Medium to heavy sweetness is the initial theme; later moderate bitterness balances. Long lasting, rich taste, warming feeling. Flavours of ripe apple, oak, raisin, vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, smooth and low in carbonation. Delicious.

jookos (7718) - FINLAND - JUN 2, 2017
Bottle, alko webshop. Deep brown murky colour. Malty light dusty sweet clay, piney nose. Getting these cola notes. Full bldied, well bittered, woody, sweet malty, but well bittered, finishing on a piney woody note. Thickish, light oily, heavy. Bitter sipper. Bit messy
