COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a fresh mature blend which matures over a year and a half, allowing the flavors of wood and almond to become more complex and intense. Kriek-Brut is also a treat to the eye, with its deep brown-red hue, and bold but elegant collar. This luxurious beer balances pure accents with the lightly sweet and gently sour nature of cherries. Flavor A luxurious beer with fresh notes and a pronounced cherry nature. Style Dark-red Belgian fruit beer, aged on real cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and pale beer aged on cherries. The beer is given a year and a half to mature. As such, the timeless tart-sweet flavor has a chance to reach its best. This luxurious beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly tart-sweet flavor of cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, and every hectoliter contains up to 13 kilograms of fruit. Liefmans Kriek-Brut has a deep reddish-brown color and a refined collar, with notes of wood and almond. You can clearly taste the lightly sweet and gently sour nature of the fruit. A classy beer, that's immediately clear.

Salian (2308) - Sale, Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2024

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2023 2005 vintage bottle. 2005 vintage bottle. Poured a deeper amberish / reddish tinted color with a smaller sized head. This was actually not that bad ... cherries still there with some earthiness and lightly aged but drinkable.

HighSparkDiesel (787) - Taipei City, TAIWAN - NOV 21, 2023
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2023 A small bottle from the Belgian beer shop on Gong Yuan Road, Tainan City, drunk here at home in TP; this one blended in 2022. Aroma: complex and intriguing: a suggestion of cherries, but also Camembert cheese, over-ripe persimmons. Appearance: opaque and dark, reddish brown, my unsuccessful homemade wine circa 1980. A generous head of the lightest-of-light pink cream. Palate: medium-bodied and tart, average carbonation, sweet finish with sour notes. Taste: medium sweet, sourness is unobtrusive, well balanced, very complex. Cherries, almonds, pencil. A treat, save it for a special occasion.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2023 Ottimo perlage, ovviamente acidula con retrogusto leggermente amaro, la ciliegia persiste a lungo in bocca. Non eccessivamente dolce come altre kriek, molto valida

YeastHopper61 (4) - Barranquilla, COLOMBIA - OCT 10, 2022 does not count
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2022 Bottle blended in 2021. Pours a dark brown reddish beer, reminds me of a grapefruit color, very hazy with a small and very retentive kind of pink foam. Aroma is sweet of raspberry but subtle, also woody and reminds of a wine. Taste is of sour and sweet red fruits, with a sweet and long aftertaste. A different but very interesting beer, definitely recommend.

one51 (2091) - - SEP 9, 2022
UPDATED: SEP 9, 2022 Bottle, blended 2020. Brown with hints of red, small pinkish head. Nose of tart sour cherries, promising, like pie with lattice top crust cooling on the window. Fine carbonation for a great mouthfeel, nice balance of fruit flavor and moderate sweetness. Doesn't taste super artificial and overdone like many krieks do, though a little bit. Not super complex but very enjoyable.
