Dark brown, beige head. Aroma has some mixed herbal and roast character. Liquorice, some sage and fresh cut grass, light Rigas Balzams. Taste has lots of bitterness, difficult to say how much of it is coming from inter roastiness and how much is coming from herbs. I feel that quite a lot is coming from herbs. Later the roast profile comes out, dark bitter cocoa, liquorice again and lingering bitterness. Really, if you said this is imperial black IPA, I would believe you for sure. Body is rather heavy - but drinkability is not bad at all. Drinks quite easy and overall, beer that I can enjoy at several levels.
