COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Barmhartige Samaritaan is a highly hopped American Barley Wine. This Barley Wine combines the best of two worlds: a full warm tast (wich is common in English Barley Wine) mixed with loads of American hops (Simcoe and EXP431). A distinctive, high alcohol brew with a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, wheat malt, hops (Challenger, Simcoe, EXP431) and Yeast.

caribou43 (3069) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 15, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2023 This bottle is coming from the sterk, Amsterdam, since a really long time that I have this product in my cellar. Opening and tasting this black nectar, on saturday after the pizza time. The body is black, brown and troubled, smooth carbonation, thin white and brown foam. A good and efficient barley wine, syrupy, really sweet, note of toffee, sugar, hint of vanilla, smooth malt, alcool well hidden, weak bitterness, discreet hop.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2020 33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Edrinks, Eindhoven. Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma and loads of caramel, raisins and some licorice. Sweet taste with a sweet boozy finish. Reminds me a bit of the Ongelovige Thomas which has a similar caramel and hops combo in my opinion. Great beer.

nathanvc (5934) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 9, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2019 Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Pours hazy dark brown with a lasting, thick, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, red apple, dates, brioche, caramel, almond, pink grapefruit, pear. Taste is medium malty sweet, caramelly & biscuity with fruity notes of apple, pear, fig, dates, bitter hoppy middle of grapefruit & orange peel, a bit herbal with a sourish undercurrent. Dryish, herbal, almost a tad piney hoppy finish, lingering biscuit, bitter fruit rinds & warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Very nice, almost Black IPA-ish at times, but Barley Wine character prevails.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2018 Caramel cola colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, drop, liquorice. Sweet flavour, malts, drop. Finish liquorice. Nice, but too strong on the liquorice for me personally.
