COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Barmhartige Samaritaan is a highly hopped American Barley Wine. This Barley Wine combines the best of two worlds: a full warm tast (wich is common in English Barley Wine) mixed with loads of American hops (Simcoe and EXP431). A distinctive, high alcohol brew with a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, wheat malt, hops (Challenger, Simcoe, EXP431) and Yeast.

The right amount of bitter in this great barley wine. Fruity and boozy and bitter. Really well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy (iOs)

A: przyjemnie chmielowy - żywiczny, lekki cytrus. W tle nieco słodyczy, karmel, herbatniki. Smak również żywiczny od chmielu, jest karmelowo słodkie, estry, herbatniki. Oleiste ciało, goryczka niska do średniej nieco zalegająca.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2018 Żywica, iglaki, troszkę estrów w stylu czerwonych owoców, ciasteczkowa słodowość, karmel, alkohol. Początkowo słodkawe, szybko pojawia się jedynak wysoka i ostatecznie dominująca goryczka. Średnia pełnia, średnie wysycenie.

Bottle, 03/11/17. Aroma is caramel, dried fruit, apricot, something herbal, dark fruits, fig. Taste is dry, caramel, dried fruit, something citrusy and tropical that doesn't really fit the beer well.

Spritziger, karamellig hopfiger Antrunk. Spritzig, moderat würzig, milde Noten von Schokolade. Gut. 10/8/9/8/9/8

Zlotta (4151) - Hagen, GERMANY - NOV 25, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2017 Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl', bottled in December 2016. Clear, dark brownish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity-resiny aroma of caramel, raisins and pine. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fruity-resiny taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes and some pine, followed by a medium long, quite bitter, resiny finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Pours a ruby brown with a beige head. Hoppy and sugary aroma. Taste is a bit empty with sugar, chestnut, caramel, tannin, and alcohol. Quite boozy and bitter, with a lasting bitter finish. Disappointing really.

3.6
DijkBier (656) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - OCT 19, 2017
Clear ruby dark-brown pour with beige head. Not a very strong nose, but I sense dark malts, dark fruits, some wood, and an unknown but nice ethereal note. Taste is more than medium sweet with a small fresh/sourness, peppery and heavy alcoholic, with a small bitterness in then aftertaste (licorice). Full-bodied and OK carbonation. Nice heavy barley wine, but not as outspoken as you might expect.
