Keg at Fourpure. It pours black with a tiny beige head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich coffee bean, vanilla, oak, earthy roast, bit of smoke, leather and treacle. The taste is bitter - sweet, sweet roasted malt, coffee action, coffee cake, dull smoke, oak, treacle, cola, vanilla, Chinese pork and toast with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty decent coffee ale. Perhaps a touch sweet, but decent anyhow.

Keg at Fourpure Brewery, Bermondsey. A deep brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee beans, roasted malts, chocolate, some oak, slight nuttiness and subtle vanilla. Taste of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, some caramel, slight nuttiness, a little brown sugar, a hint of dark fruits, maybe cookie and subtle vanilla. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, roasted bitterness in the finish. I like coffee beers and this is no exception. Roasted coffee and a hint of sweet caramel and chocolate to balance. The roastiness isnt in your face either, a light, crisp body too. Impressed.
