UPDATED: MAR 25, 2023 Bottled 330ml. -from Edeka Rees Freiburg. Clear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, malty alcoholic nose. Sweet malty, caramel, alcohol, light fruity and bready with rather sweet finish. Boozy .

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2023 0.33 l bottle from 'AleHub', best before October 2022. Slightly hazy, golden with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a bit floral aroma of grains, some apple and a touch of straw. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, a bit grassy taste of grains, some vanilla, light honey and hints of straw, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally metallic finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Solid pale Doppelbock, quite pleasant, not too shabby.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2022 Hellgolden und mit minimalistischer Schäumung findet sich der Waldhaus Doppel Bock im Glas wieder. Die Geruchsprobe ist von sehr süßem Malz, etwas Zitrone und hellem Honig geprägt. Der kaum rezente Antrunk ist mit deutlicher Kandissüße und Quitte gespickt, begleitend bringt sich süßer Blütenhonig mit ein. Den Alkohol hat man perfekt integriert, was ob des recht hohen Alkoholgehalts eigentlich an ein Wunder grenzt. Der Abgang überzeugt dann selbst den größten Zweifler mit einer runden, orangeatartigen Hopfenherbe. Die sehr zurückhaltende Spundung tut ihr Übriges, und das Brauwasser ist ja bei Waldhaus ohnehin immer von höchster Güte. Unterm Strich ein wunderbar hopfiger, komplexer und sehr gut zu trinkender Doppelbock.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 Bottle at home, courtesy of Beerhunter111, I believe. Pours opaque golden with a white head and it caught me off-guard to be honest, I was expecting a dunkler bock, haha. Nose is hay, honey ans booze, slightly oxidized. Taste is honey, pale malts, bread, light booze. Abruptly ending, sweet and warming finish, medium body, soft carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2020 'Waldhaus Doppel Bock, Edition 2019', Fläschchen von Ambrosetti, Berlin. - Dunkel goldgelb, klar. - In der Nase tiefes, sehr süßes helles Malz, milde süße Zitrone, zarte Kräuter. - Antrunk fett hellmalzig mit Butterkeks, kandissüß aber auch tief, mit Zitronenkonfitüre und angenehmer wiewohl milder herbaler Hopfung. Milder rezent, ölig schwer; gut eingebundener Alkohol. Im Abgang weiche herbal-hopfenwürzige Herbe. - Fett hellmalziger aber geschickt und leicht pilsähnlich gehopfter heller Bock - kann man hier von einem Pilsbock reden? Sehr angenehm. (30.1.2020.)

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2019 0,33l Flasche. Weisser Schaum. Honig, Grasduft. Geschmack süss. Sonst eigentlich nichts. Da gibt es wirklich keinen Grund zumtrinken. Traurig.
