CloakedDagger (3008) - - JAN 24, 2018
Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque pitch black with a small, dense light brown head. Roasty nose, but not exactly aggressive. Solid roasty, malty body. Distinct oakiness and tannins, but not so much Sherry. Not bad at all, but the oak and tannins are a little rough right now, so I believe it's a beer that will gain from some cellaring. 240118

Ungstrup (39109) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 15, 2018
Bottled. A black beer with a a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

Sample from 33 cl bottle. Pitch black with a dense tanned head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, coffee, cherries, roasted notes. Taste is roasted sweet. Full body with an oliy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes roasted sweet with dark malts and cherries. Very nice.

Viscous anthracite with a carpet of sepia that fades fast. 4 Carmelized sugar, steak crust, wood smoke, vanilla + booze. 4 Black cherry + plume, fig, soy, coffee grounds, slight ash, toffee, a winey centre, and hint of wood, and lean end. 4 Long dry charcoal linger. Heavy, smooth, clean. 4.25 It's big, no doubt about that. Impressive how it finishes so nimbly compared to its size - defensive tackle in ballet slippers. A lot more fruit, both dark + red, than expected, and juicy, too - is that the sherry? I suspect not, and that's the problem - where's the barrel? Without some whisky or wood, all that sugar makes it a desert sipper. Somehow less than it could be. 4

Aroma: coffee, red fruits, roasted malts, dark chocolate. Appearance: black with almost no head. Taste: coffee, chocolate, whisky tartness, dry, a bit of red fruits, low carbonation, medium bitterness, medium body. Overall: Nice RIS, but a little too dry for me.

Bitek (902) - Warszawa, POLAND - DEC 23, 2017

Borup (16055) - Albertslund, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 33 cl. bottle. A black beer with white an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of cherries, roasted malt, bread, caramel, chocolate, coffee and with a bitter finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Tom L. Black. Wine, wood, fruitiness, licorice, hops, herbal, alcohol, bitter, quite boozy. Not really my kind of an Imperial Stout. Kinda harsh.
