UPDATED: MAR 28, 2024 Old Untappd checkin, July 3, 2016. Artificial watermelon flavor which isn’t terribly sweet, but has a bit of a rind taste to it. Could be much better than it is.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2022 From the Bottle at Chris O tasting 11/08/2016 Fruity aroma. Clear golden coloured smooth on the palate and fruity melon flavour with a hint of dryness in a lasting malt finish.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2021 Heavy melon from New Belgium. Heavy watermelon aroma, only faint flavor. Body is similar to a sparkling water.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2021 Pours a pinkish amber with a massive pink-hued white head. Aroma of artificial watermelon candy. Taste has somewhat off-putting artificial fruit flavors overlaying a sweet malt base. Palate is really indistinguishable, more sickly sweetness. Not good.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2021 From a 12 fl. oz. can with a BB date of 26 Dec 2021. The pour is pinkish-amber with a quick lasting fizzy head. I really hate beer that does not look like beer. Yup! LOTS of watermelon greets the nose and that is really about all except for dish soap. Light body. Watermelon in the taste with a semi crisp finish. I poured most of it away I'm sorry to say.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2021 Tap at the Fort Collins brewery, JUly 2016 - as New Belgium Heavy Melon. Pours clear medium yellow with an off-white head. Aroma: lime citrus, tropical fruit, melon, light hoppy. Taste: moderate sweet and bitter, melon, tropical fruit, lime. Medium body with soft carbonation

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2021 Appearance: Pours a lightly reddish-pink body with a medium-sized, white (with just a touch of pink) head. Smell: Watermelon and a squirt of lime juice, a bit sweetish, a bit tart-scented. Taste: Honeydew, watermelon and lime. Reasonably sweetish with a fine degree of tartness. Rather modest pale maltiness underneath but enough to keep it from feeling entirely devoid of substance. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation but with a bit of zip to it. Overall: A few pangs of Jolly Rancher, though it's not really all that unnatural feeling. It's just a simple, summertime refresher.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2021 Can from sample pack. Pilsner glass. Watermelon and light beer. Not a huge fan of this.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2021 Heavy Melon. A hazy, pink color with minimal head. The aroma is a big dose of watermelon, cantaloupe, and strawberry. It has a light body with lively carbonation. The taste is sweet with a slightly tart finish.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2020 June 16th, 2016 - Fruit beers are getting more expressive with this melon themed brew from NBB. The color hasn't been modified with a pink tincture to give it a candy like appearance, but it does have a sweet and pickled smell, like pickled watermelon rinds. The palate is quite soft, like Fat Tire, with a sweet and vinegar taste. That extra acerbic touch makes this refreshing and cuts through the hot heat of early Summer in a fashion like lemonade.
