UPDATED: DEC 16, 2023 On tap at Patricks. A murky lightly brownish orange colored beer with a small, quite foamy head. The aroma is quite unusual and complex, with notes of smoke, some oak and a vinous touch. Chocolate, roasted malts, berries, dark dried fruit and alcohol. It's full bodied and softly carbonated, not much warming considering the ABV. Sweet, but far from cloying, with a gentle bitterness in the finish. Quite oaked flavor, vinous too, with hints of smoke, roasted malts, milk chocolate and dried fruits. Everlasting finish. A delicious one indeed, complex and unusual, screaming for some dried fruit, nuts and perhaps a slice of Brie. 231216

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2023 Tap @ Patricks. Unclear/dirty orange golden body under a small, disappearing white head. Aroma is kind of vinous and unusually. Malt, yeast, acidic plum, fruit, herbs and smooth alcohol. Taste is rare and unusually as well, definitively interesting and also really nice. Sweet and acidic with malt, plum, berries, dry fruit, yeast, some wood and warming alcohol. Lots of different flavors, but all over in good balance. Fine body with long lasting aftertaste. I think it’s many years since I tastes a beer that surprises me this much and still taste good. No frigging lactose or chocolate pudding either, just a nice, traditional beer.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2022 Bottled (2017 vintage, Alko Web, with Mats). Hazy orange colour, small white head. Aroma is red wine barrel, wood, some bananas and smokey tones. Flavour is smokey, quite strong on the booze and nicely dry red wine tannins as well as some wooden dry elements. Not much to do with a Gotlandsdricke nor Sahti.

Almost clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is quite light and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, a light creamy sweetness. Obvious but very mellifluous smoke. Nice mix of soft cranberry and mellow but pleasing red wine barrell. Trace of marmalade. Quite a light finish. Does its job well.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2021 0.33 l bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Amber, cloudy, no head. Vineous, tobacco flavours, sour plums and sweet ending. Quite interesting.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2021 Amber color with medium head. Aroma has caramel, spices and sweet fruits. Taste is malty sweet with long quite sweet aftertaste. Flavors of malt, caramel, juniper, wood.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2021 (Bottle, 0.33 l - bottled on 22.12.2017, from Alko, 20210424) The beer golden, oily and lightly hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, caramel and spiciness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, smoke, caramel, spiciness, malts, vineousness and bitterness. Aftertaste dry, warming, woody and bitter. A decent smoky and spicy brew with woody notes.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2021 33cl bottle. Amber color. Cheesy, sweet smoke with some red wine notes in the finish. Not a fan at all.
