The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and dry, good fine carbonation. Dry and slightly bitter dark malts, offset by a little malt cream. Spicy mid. Dry spicy finish. Standard stuff.

330ml bottle from trade with Anstei. Many thanks! Pours pitch black, small foamy tan head Aroma has some light roast and sweet spice, bourbon or even rum perhaps. High carbonation on the palate, with some vibrant, sweet spice, cherry coke and dark malts. Had to double check this wasn’t barrel-aged in something. Ok, but carbonation is offputtingly high.

jinroh (1694) - ESTONIA - AUG 6, 2017
Bottle shared at Chriso’s and Ruth pre GBBF shindig, August 5, 2017. Dark brown pour with abundant beige head. Light roasty aroma, some ginger there. Taste has more ginger and spices, slight chillies. Dry mouthfeel, caramel, raw chilli.

Grumbo (3109) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2017
Bottle courtesy of Bov, cheers. Gusher on opening. Eventually pours black with a big tan head, slowly dimishing to a small bubbly ring. Aroma of aniseed, chocolate, spice, roasted malt and spruce. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness, with a hint of sour. Medium to full bodied, oily and slick texture, average to soft carbonation. Finish is roasted, milky, with some increasing bitterness.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s and Ruth pre GBBF shindig. 02/08/2017. Many thanks. A dark black coloured pour with a lasting lively tan head. Aroma is woody pine, earthy, spicy hop. Palate is semi sweet, creamy, spritzy carbonation.. Flavour is composed of woody pine, pine, earthy roast. Not bad.

Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. Gushing! A black beer with a huge good lasting beige head. Aroma of burned malt, chocolate, lactose. Taste of liquorice, cinnamon, some coffee, too high carbonation.

Bov (12888) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 5, 2017
from the brewery - black beer under afirm dark beige foam; nice lace; solid aroma of rum, corn and chocolate; creamy palate; excessive carbonation, strong bitterness on top of the malt sweetness, some apparent alcohol; nutty and chocolatey finish with lingering notes of rum

mmargarucci (343) - Basel, SWITZERLAND - JUN 2, 2017
Pours a dark brown/black with espresso colored head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate with a few hints of dark fruit like plums or cherries. Palate is rather creamy with a crisp finish. Lacking a bit in complexity but it is super good!

Dark, toasted malts, chocolate, cacao, dark roast, filter coffee. Very dark, clear brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More dark chocolate, bitter cacao, light coffee, dark roast, medium carbonation, full bodied. Alright Impy, yet lacks complexity and intensity, but kudos for a first try! Bottle from CraftGallery, Bern.

Ritzn (1534) - GERMANY - APR 27, 2017
Deep brown with little brown head. Aroma is cherries, syrup, chocolate, phenols, pepper, some flowers or perfume. Taste is dry cocoa, no sweetness later, syrupy and phenolic though. Finish is some mint and much later chocolate. Interesting nonetheless.
